The CEIP Las Delicias, located in the Ofra-Costa Sur district, reports that for the next 2022-2023 it has been selected as a “Pilot School” by the Ministry of Education to implement the schooling of 2-year-old students in Early Childhood Education. This Project will be carried out in four Centers in the Santa Cruz area, being the CEIP Las Delicias the only one that will incorporate these students of the First Cycle of public and free Early Childhood Education in the Ofra area.

Soon the Directorate of the Center will be summoned for a meeting with the Counselor Ms. Manuela Armas Rodríguez in order to clarify the organizational measures and general lines of implementation of the Project in our school (schedules, personnel, infrastructure, rest, food…).

From the CEIP they have advanced that the offer of places will be for 18 students of 2 years and that registration can be requested from April 1 to 22 by entering this link.

“As a Center we are excited about this new challenge, which is an alternative to prioritize an educational offer for families in need, since this demand will be especially helpful for our area, taking into account that access to education for these students will be free. and public”, affirm from the Center.

Also, from the CEIP The Delights state that “the schooling of children from 0 to 3 years of age is one of the great deficits of the Educational System in the Canary Islands, since there is a percentage of minors in our area with this age range where the existing offer, public or private It is insufficient in relation to the demand and resources of the families, so with this initiative we consider this pilot experience positive for our Neighborhood and Center”.

In addition, when making this new offer, “the forecast of population growth, the situation of vulnerability of families in the area, as well as the schooling needs to provide an educational response to these students have been taken into account. We will continue to inform you of the news, clarifications and processes communicated to us by the Ministry of Education, as well as the general lines of the implementation of this Project”.
