The intervention of Highways aims to improve road safety in this section, which, according to the insular area, “has a significant deterioration with significant cracks, cracking of the pavement, potholes and peeling, so requires immediate action for which an investment of 381,120 euros will be made».
Enrique Arriaga adds that “the expected duration of the works is about three months”, and insists that “it is a superficial rehabilitation, but very important of the pavement, since the works contemplate other actions related to the improvement and conditioning of the existing drainage through the replacement of a transverse fence and the execution of two new ones, the enabling of new pedestrian crossings that will significantly improve road safety in this environment.
Action will also be taken to ensure universal accessibility and increase the safety of pedestrians with the conditioning of pedestrian crossings and the relocation of a bus stop. The insular director of Roads, Tomás Félix García, adds that action will be taken according to the degree of deterioration of the different layers of asphalt.
