SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, March 29. (EUROPE PRESS) –
The Cabildo de Tenerife will allow the hiring of twelve unemployed people in the municipality of Tegueste thanks to a project in collaboration with the City Council, an initiative that is part of a plan promoted by the Employment, Socioeconomic Development and Foreign Action area that is being carried out carried out in the 31 municipalities of the island to promote hiring.
The councilor of the area, Carmen Luz Baso, explained that this project “has an investment of 251,682 euros that aims to facilitate the job placement of unemployed people and improve their qualifications.” In addition, she added that these are “necessary actions in this context of economic crisis generated by the pandemic.”
On the other hand, the counselor has highlighted that the initiative “will be launched by the Tegueste City Council, who will manage the investment in order to generate projects linked to sustainable development.”
For her part, the mayor of Tegueste, Ana Rosa Mena, explained that having this type of training program is essential to be able to offer unemployed people in the municipality an opportunity for professional development. “Specifically, in Tegueste we have been developing this type of theoretical-practical training for two years through which, this year, we have been able to employ a total of 12 people,” she pointed out.
“We thank the Cabildo de Tenerife for maintaining this collaboration, which makes it possible to contribute to improving employability and, therefore, the well-being of our neighbors,” added Ana Rosa Mena.
The plan includes hiring for a period of 12 months to perform different positions linked to the areas of environment, health, rural landscape and agricultural sector. Before joining, the staff must complete training related to the work to be carried out, as well as other cross-cutting areas.
Specifically, four qualified people will be hired who will perform the functions of administrative assistants, environmental educators, environmental community facilitator and one person with the title of agricultural technical engineering; plus another eight unqualified people, among whom there will be five agricultural laborers, a gardener or gardener, a person who holds the position of environmental foreman and another of agricultural foreman.
The initiative will not only be launched in the municipality of Tegueste, but is part of a program created by the Cabildo in collaboration with all the municipalities of the island. Its objective is to achieve the hiring of 622 people and, for this, an investment of 10.5 million euros will be made.
