The area of Management of the Natural Environment and Security of the Council of Tenerife has added to its fleet of vehicles 36 new units, some of which were received last November and others this March. This incorporation corresponds to the framework agreement for the renewal of light vehicles in the Area.

“The Natural Environment Management and Security area of the Cabildo incorporates a new fleet of vehicles every time it becomes necessary to renew them from time to time, and always in accordance with the framework agreement for the renewal of vehicles, the cars and vans of the different services, the which, due to their use, mainly in natural environments, suffer wear and tear that is higher than normal, affecting their safety and operability,” said the director of the area, Isabel García.

This week, Isabel García has participated in the start-up of these new vehicles together with the head of the Service, Pedro Martínez, and the technician responsible for the Area’s Mechanical Means unit, Antonio Mayor.

This consignment of vehicles is made up of twelve dissuasive vehicles (BRIFOR), plus another eight crew vehicles, nine for Environment Agents, three for the Teide National Park, and one for the Civil Protection technical service.

With this request, 50% of the renewal agreed in the renewal plan for light vehicles in the area is completed, and approved by the representatives of the workers, human resources and the affected areas.

Regarding agent vehicles, approximately 95% of the units have been renewed, there are only five left to renew, proceeding to unify their corporate identity and the accessories required for the development of their functions such as the bridge of lights, transmitter and the high visibility line

In relation to Pick Up type vehicles for deterrents, 93% of the vehicles have also been renewed with only six remaining. In relation to crew vehicles, only 40% of the vehicles have been renewed, and it has been determined that in some territories vehicles of another type are needed and the acquisition of which will be undertaken in a second phase of the Renewal Plan.
