The City Council organizes the VII edition of the Festival of the Word 2022

The City Council of Santiago del Teide has organized, one more year, the VII edition of the Festival of the Word 2022, which during the month of April will integrate, within its programming, different activities and acts related to literature and that will be aimed at All public.

It should be noted that, through this literary event, it is intended to promote growth through the word, all by promoting the reading habit and concern for the infinity of stories that are hidden behind literature; highlighting that, throughout the development of its 6 previous editions, a greater number of children, young people and adults have been involved in each of its activities aimed at the enjoyment of reading and the promotion of creativity.

Thus, this new edition will begin on Friday, April 1, at 5:30 p.m. at 6:30 p.m. at the Tamaimo Library, and it will do so with the activity “The story hour”, organized by the CajaCanarias Foundation and which is aimed at children from 3 to 9 years old.

From Monday, April 11 to Friday, May 6, you can enjoy the exhibition “Of books and libraries”, which will be available at the Tamaimo Library -from 09:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.- as well as in the Library of Santiago del Teide and Puerto de Santiago -from 2:00 p.m. at 8:00 p.m.-.

On Monday, April 18, for its part, starting at 6:00 p.m., the Library of Puerto de Santiago will host the poetic event “For another sun”, which will be carried out by Juan Carlos Pérez Ferrer and Miguel Ángel Rodríguez Rodríguez, if Well, this activity will take place, in the same way, on Wednesday, April 20 -starting at 6:00 p.m.-, in the Tamaimo Library.

Likewise, from April 1 to 22, the Festival of the Word will bring with it different theatrical workshops, storytelling sessions and exhibitions, which will take place in pre-school, primary and secondary schools.

On Friday, April 22, for its part, the CEIP Feliciano Hernández García will host the theatrical exhibition “Witch Legends”, which will be carried out by Maruchy Hernández as well as Josep Acevedo and which will be aimed at 1st year Baccalaureate students.

It won’t be until 6:30 p.m. when the aforementioned educational center hosts the poetic event “For another sun”, which will be carried out by Juan Carlos Pérez Ferrer and Miguel Ángel Rodríguez Rodríguez, noting that, starting at 7:30 p.m., Ernesto Rodríguez Abad, Juanma Moreno and Aarón Rodríguez They will carry out the show “The sky of Santiago del Teide”, which will be aimed at an adult audience.

Finally, this new edition of the Festival of the Word will feature the school theater show “La troupe de las voz”, which will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 23, and which will take place at the CEIP Feliciano Hernández García, addressing 5th grade students from the educational centers of the municipality.
