The Cabildo de Tenerife, as part of the work to bury the TF-24 and build a pedestrian walkway at the Padre Anchieta roundabout, will move the sculpture that gives its name to the roundabout tomorrow night. The transfer of the image will be done around ten o’clock at night, to cause the least possible affectation to traffic, as DIARIO DE AVISOS has learned. The sculpture will be moved to the garden of the central campus of the University of La Laguna (ULL) while the work on the pedestrian walkway project in said roundabout lasts.
This transfer was advanced by the president of the Cabildo de Tenerife, Pedro Martín, during Madrid Fusión, where, in statements to Cadena Ser, he explained that, finally, it will be tomorrow night when this provisional ‘move’ will take place. to continue with the works of a footbridge that intends to bury the traffic as it passes through the Padre Anchieta roundabout, so that pedestrians can cross through the upper part of it.
The Cabildo reported two weeks ago that, as of last Wednesday, the concreting work began, and micro-piloting of the tunnel that is being executed for the burying of the TF-24 island road, very close to the Padre Anchieta roundabout. In order to carry out these works safely, vehicle traffic on the TF-263 highway, the Geneto general highway, between Padre Anchieta and the Las Dominicas school exit, has been diverted along municipal roads, including Mayber Street. To do this, it works in coordination with the City Council of La Laguna.
The island councilor for Roads, Enrique Arriaga, pointed out then that the burying of the TF-24 is one of the most important actions that will be carried out during this mandate to improve mobility on the island of Tenerife together with the Padre Anchieta footbridge .
Arriaga explained that these works give continuity to the planned programming and it is expected that this reinforcement will be completed in around two and a half months.
The insular director of Highways, Tomás Félix García also recalled that with the start-up of this new branch, traffic at the Padre Anchieta roundabout will be reduced by 3,500 vehicles by preventing those who circulate on the TF-24 and want to incorporate to the TF-5.
