The El Tanque Ecomuseum, located in Los Partidos de Franquis de Abajo, in the nucleus of San José de los Llanos, received 6,196 visitors of 40 nationalities between January and July. The statistics show that the majority (4,504) are of Spanish nationality, among residents and tourists, followed by Germans (534), Chinese (202), Italians (153), French (151), Russians (106), Belgians (72) , English (67), Poles (62) and the Netherlands (61). The month with the highest influx was April, with 1,522 visitors, in addition to February, with 999; March, with 988; and May, with 912. Those with the least traffic of visitors were July (461), June (527) and January (787).

The Ecomuseum reopened its doors in July of last year, after confinement and improvements in museum resources. Among them, the incorporation of new museum elements of augmented reality, which enrich the experience for visitors and make them more involved in the story told in these facilities. They show the rural way of life and the agricultural and livestock traditions of the area.

Among the novelties, a virtual assistant in three-dimensional format stands out with the appearance of one of the neighbors who lived in the environment, who tells the story of each of the houses that make up the Ecomuseum. In the old sale there is a landlord, also in digital format, integrated into his space and talking about the vicissitudes of his business.

The Councilor for Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries of the Cabildo, Javier Parrilla, emphasizes that the El Tanque Ecomuseum “is becoming an example of sustainable tourism, combining tourist exploitation with the well-being of the local population.”
