SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, March 25. (EUROPE PRESS) –
The Minister of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries of the Government of the Canary Islands, Alicia Vanoostende, stated this Friday that the Canary Islands have fodder reserves for livestock for “practically a month”.
In statements to journalists, however, he admitted that the Executive is concerned about the supply of feed for animals because in a month “we must start bringing product from the Peninsula” and the market is stressed by the transport strike.
The minister has commented that they maintain direct contact with importers and also with Asprocan and the Government Delegation so that the State security forces and bodies can guarantee that there are “safe convoys” and that the bananas reach their destination.
