The Department of Local Development and Employment The registration period for 13 blended courses, 5 face-to-face and 35 online courses has just opened this week, which will address subjects as varied as community managerphoto retouching, security access to buildings, equalitydevelopment of sustainable development goals, hospitality, private surveillanceoccupational risk prevention, lifeguard, transportation and school cafeteria monitor, first aid or window design.

The mayor responsible for the area, Violeta Moreno (SSP)trust to reach 1,300 registered which, according to data from previous years, will be 80% local women. He adds that in this edition “attempts have been made to reinforce the training proposals in areas such as hospitality or private security and surveillance, in addition to incorporating training in equality between men and women, as well as a 20-hour training for the development of the UN Sustainable Development Goals».

Violet Brown stresses that “the main objective of this 100% municipal initiative is to promote job training both for people who are currently performing a job function, as well as for those who are unemployed and want to improve their work skills.

The budget allocated to the organization of these courses is around 15,000 euros and everything the Municipal Training Plan will be developed thanks to an agreement with the Atacayte Academy. In the face-to-face section there are five training proposals, all with a duration of 20 teaching hours, and with contents related to work at height and chainsaw handlingoccupational risk prevention in construction, locksmithing and earthworks.

The course section online, through the internet, is the most numerous, since it has seven training groups with alternatives on administration and management; trade and marketing; computing and communications; Further training; Image and sound; security and environment; and sociocultural and community services. In this section, the hours of training range between 20 and 30, although some of the training in business management and marketing reaches 100 hours.

The mayor of Tacoronte, Jose Daniel Diaz (NC), considers that this training plan offers “a very complete offer, with which they try to reinforce the activities aimed at those sectors that demand more specialized training and that generate more sources of employment among people who increase their job training or are unemployed”. Most of the proposals are related to technical aspects related to locksmithing, security, vertical work, food safety or commerce, “among many others,” remarks the mayor. In his opinion, “what is sought is employability, an objective that forms part of one of the highest aspirations of this government group (NC-PSOE-SSP), which is the generation of employment for the residents of the municipality».

“Given the experience of previous years, 80% of the students will be women”
