SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, March 23. (EUROPE PRESS) –
The Civil Guard, within the framework of the so-called Operation Corral, has proceeded to dismantle a criminal network based in the north of the island of Tenerife that was dedicated to the sale, on a medium and small scale, of narcotic substances.
This operation began at the beginning of 2021, when the investigative units learned that the leader of the alleged criminal group regularly went to an isolated area in the midlands, so given the suspicion that these visits could be related to some place of concealment of narcotic substances, which is called in criminal jargon ‘caleta’, the agents proceeded to establish discreet surveillance services on the aforementioned place.
As a result of this, it was possible to locate a van-type vehicle that the criminal group used as a ‘cove’, inside which 32 kilograms of hashish, 650 grams of cocaine, 165 grams of MDMA, in addition to several kilograms of cutting substances, were located. as well as different utensils used for the distribution of narcotic substances.
Despite the security measures adopted by the members of the criminal group, the hard work carried out by the agents made it possible to identify the individuals who were part of a perfectly structured criminal organization, in which each of the members had their determined function.
Last January, with the corresponding judicial authorization, five home entries and searches were carried out, in which 480 grams of cocaine were seized, also seizing cash, vehicles, telephone terminals and personal computers.
The final results of Operation Corral are summarized in the arrest of three people, the seizure of 1,150 grams of Cocaine, 32 kilograms of Hashish, 165 grams of MDMA.
The Operation, under the direction of the Court of First Instance and Instruction number 1 of La Orotava and coordinated by the Anti-Drug Prosecutor’s Office of the Provincial Court of Tenerife, has been carried out by the Territorial Judicial Police Team of Puerto de la Cruz and the Area of Investigation of the Main Post of La Orotava, which had the support in the different phases of the investigation with units belonging to the Civil Guard Command of Santa Cruz de Tenerife.
