SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, March 22. (EUROPE PRESS) –
The spokesman for Ciudadanos (Cs) in the Parliament of the Canary Islands, Ricardo Fernández de la Puente, has asked President Ángel Víctor Torres to adopt measures adjusted to the social reality of the Islands and, above all, to assume a spirit of consensus to be able to reach agreements.
During his speech at the Debate on the State of Canarian Nationality, Ricardo Fernández de la Puente reviewed the main problems that the Archipelago is experiencing. Thus, with regard to La Palma, he considered vital the agility of aid and reconstruction measures.
On immigration, the deputy from Cs said that the lack of means and the lack of sensitivity on the part of the Government have been made clear. On the other hand, he demanded to promote a strategy together with the economic and social agents in favor of the growth and social cohesion of the Archipelago.
In terms of energy, Fernández de la Puente urged the development of a “new and realistic” strategy and, regarding the health situation, “real” measures and “more effective” management. He also advocated a real effort to reduce the digital gap in Education, as well as leading a dialogue that contributes to solving the problem of education from 0 to 3 years.
In relation to Social Rights, he acknowledged that it has not been the best possible management and asked that the aid that is expressed and announced reach those affected. Similarly, he requested a shock plan aimed at the primary sector, with tax cuts and direct aid.
Ricardo Fernández de la Puente admitted that the Government has acted reactively in the face of problems, but affirmed that they have had little result. In this sense, he acknowledged that the Government headed by Ángel Víctor Torres is “willful” but “not very effective” when it comes to resolving the problems of the Canary Islands.
