The Cabildo de Tenerife, through the Insular Foundation for Training, Employment and Business Development (Fifede), has opened this Monday the registration period to carry out the certificate of professionalism in organic farming, which will be given in the municipality of Buenavista del Norte within the project to promote new employment niches.
The Minister of Employment, Socioeconomic Development and Foreign Action, Carmen Luz Baso, pointed out that they are betting on providing official training so that unemployed people who want to dedicate themselves to the primary sector have the necessary knowledge and qualifications. In this sense, she wanted to remind that this course is part of a training program in different occupations linked to renewable energy, organic farming or rural tourism.
Likewise, he explained that the course has a theoretical part that is complemented with practical hours in companies so that the students exercise the knowledge acquired during the training.
The registration period ends on April 4 and can be done through the Fifede Foundation website, where all the additional information is located. This course will be carried out within the framework of the project to promote new employment niches, which is co-financed by the Canary Islands Development Fund (Fdcan), within the Strategic Framework for Insular Development (Medi).
Training is scheduled to begin at the end of April. In order to enroll in the course, the following requirements must be met: possess the necessary qualifications to access a professional qualification level 2 certificate, be unemployed and be a resident of the island of Tenerife, at least during the last year. In addition, students who require it may request a scholarship for transportation.
The training consists of 500 hours, with the following distribution: 450 of theory, 40 of non-work practices in companies and 10 of the complementary module on professional insertion, environmental awareness and gender equality. The contents of the certificate of professionalism include four specific modules: mechanization and agricultural facilities; soil management, cultivation and harvesting operations of ecological farms and prevention and management of the health of the agroecosystem.
