SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, March 19. (EUROPE PRESS) –
The public company Sodepal, through the La Palma Film Commission project, dependent on the Tourism Council of the Cabildo, will be present at the 12th edition of the Series Mania festival, the festival and professional forum that will take place in the city of Lille (France) from March 22 to 24. After the 2021 edition was postponed to the end of August, the event returns to its usual calendar.
The participation of La Palma in this event comes from the hand of Canary Islands Film, the brand of the Government of the Canary Islands that supports the Film Commission of all the Islands, and through participation under the umbrella of ICEX SPAIN in a space for exclusive use .
The audiovisual sector has shown its capacity for economic revitalization, reporting significant benefits to the territories that incorporate the sector into their strategic image as a destination. Among all the formats that make up audiovisual productions, series are an interesting segment, due to the duration of the services contracted at the locations where their filming takes place.
Series Mania is presented as a key market for attracting audiovisual productions to the Island, since it is a meeting in which the main production companies meet and in which a multitude of meetings are held in which the destinations gala of its attributes to attract the sector to its territories.
In this sense, from the Cabildo the attractions of the Island stand out to attract filming and turn it into the perfect film set, such as the pleasant temperatures, the great variety and contrast of locations, the connectivity, the agility of the processing of permits for filming on the Island, the team of professionals it has and the tax deduction regime for the audiovisual sector.
The Minister for Economic Promotion and delegate of Sodepal, Raquel Díaz, and the Minister for Tourism, Raúl Camacho, have agreed on the need for La Palma “to be present at this type of event to maintain the island’s position as a leading destination, with the capacity to attract top-level productions”.
By the way, Raquel Díaz has highlighted that there are more and more national and international production companies interested in producing in La Palma, which, in turn, has an audiovisual sector with a greater capacity to respond to the needs of large productions.
La Palma Film Commission will be present for intense days of meetings at a festival that showcases the best series from around the world, while the Forum -one of the main meeting points for showrunners, screenwriters, producers, broadcasters and talent- discovers a great source of creativity and new talents.
