SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, March 19. (EUROPE PRESS) –
The spokesperson for the Canarian-PNC Coalition in the Congress of Deputies, Ana Oramas, has signed, together with other parliamentary groups, the request for the urgent appearance of the President of the State Government, Pedro Sánchez, to justify the “unexpected” turn of his Executive regarding the dispute over Western Sahara.
The nationalists demand that Sánchez clarify as soon as possible why he has gone from demanding “a fair, lasting and mutually acceptable political solution, within the framework of the United Nations” to accepting the autonomy plan defended by the Kingdom of Morocco.
The Canarian nationalists urge the Prime Minister to appear before the Lower House as soon as possible, especially after the statements made yesterday by the Foreign Minister in which he assured that “the Government is united in defending the interests of the Canarians, the people from Ceuta, the people from Melilla and the Andalusians”.
Canarian Coalition considers that the president “has acted with his back to all the political forces in a matter of special sensitivity for our territory with the sending of a letter to the King of Morocco that goes against what the Executive has defended in all his appearances “.
“We do not understand – add the nationalists – that the Government and the PSOE say one thing in public and defend the opposite in a letter that we have learned through a leak from the Royal House of Alaouí. The case is so extremely serious that The president cannot stay another minute without clearing up this matter.”
In parallel, the nationalist organization calls on the President of the Government of the Canary Islands, Ángel Víctor Torres, to position himself on the “unexpected turn” of the State Government in a question registered yesterday by the Canarian Nationalist Group (CC-PNC-AHI) in the Parliament of the Canary Islands.
