SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, March 17. (EUROPE PRESS) –

The Cabildo de Tenerife, through the Citizen Participation and Diversity area, will provide direct and personalized technical assistance to groups and associations that distribute food and that have received a contribution within the line of subsidies set for reasons of humanitarian aid during the pandemic.

The distribution of the amount, 2 million euros that have already been paid, have been granted to 20 third-sector entities dedicated to the distribution of food that are attached to Tenerife Isla Solidaria, a program dependent on the public company Sinpromi. All of them have among their tasks the distribution of essential products among the most vulnerable population.

“Now we have to accompany them to advise on all the doubts they may have regarding the expense or the justification,” explained the CEO of Citizen Participation and Diversity, Nauzet Gugliotta, who recalled that this subsidy line seeks to respond to the attention they provide the entities with the families that have had the worst time.

Over the next few weeks, a meeting is planned with the beneficiary entities to make known what this support process will be like. “The idea is that we can be on the street, in the headquarters of the associations, knowing their reality,” confirmed the counselor.

“The subsidy justification process is always what costs the entities the most and we want to prevent them from getting lost in the paperwork to facilitate their work, which in the end means being there where it is most needed,” Gugliotta remarked. “Having a reference person will also serve to centralize all doubts and thus facilitate the work of the groups,” he explained.

In practice, most of the entities attached to Tenerife Isla Solidaria that distribute food have opted for this subsidy, a demonstration of the need for support they require. The distribution of aid among the groups responds to criteria of the number of people served and the number of municipalities in which they carry out their work. During the months of the pandemic, continuous accompaniment work has been carried out with the entities, which is now reinforced so that they can reach more people.
