SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, March 16. (EUROPE PRESS) –

The Cabildo de Tenerife, through the Autonomous Organization of Museums and Centers (OAMC), organizes tomorrow, Thursday, a round table-colloquium in the Assembly Hall of the Museum of Nature and Archeology (MUNA) to reflect on the artistic imprint that the last eruption of La Palma.

This activity, which will be held at 7:00 p.m., is outlined as a complement to the cultural program linked to the exhibition Skin of the Island by the Canarian artist Facundo Fierro, which is exhibited in said museum until April 3.

The Councilor for Museums, Concepción Rivero, explained that this exhibition “is giving the opportunity to celebrate different meetings in which art, history and current affairs merge into the same activity, as is the case with this proposal, which will have the presence of outstanding artists such as Jorge Lozano, Loló Fernández, Óscar Benítez, Rosa Mª Juez, or Facundo Fierro himself”.

The round table will also feature other personalities linked to the world of scientific photography and natural sciences such as Sergio Socorro and Arnoldo Santos and, in parallel, the audiovisual Feeling the Volcano and the Workshop (2022) by filmmaker Jorge Lozano will also be presented.

With this initiative, it is intended to establish a dialogue reflection about the activities and traces that the artistic group EL TALLER left imprinted on the palm culture, as well as the actions that could be undertaken as a result of the volcanic eruption that recently transformed a substantial part of the La Palma landscape.

Likewise, between March 15 and 20, the monotype workshop Feeling the volcano will be held at said museum headquarters, in which, together with Facundo Fierro, several plastic artists will meet to work in sessions open to the public. The work resulting from this workshop, which will remain open from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., will be put up for sale for the benefit of those affected by the volcanic eruption.
