SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, March 15. (EUROPE PRESS) –
The Governing Council of the Cabildo de Tenerife has agreed to pay 766,000 euros for the Valleseco beach project in Santa Cruz, a figure that corresponds to the insular contribution for this year and that is included in a total investment of the Corporation of 4.3 million euros since 2019, 24.5% of the total cost of this action.
The insular president, Pedro Martín, highlighted that this investment, which is materialized through the Insular Directorate of Tourism, “reflects the commitment of the Cabildo to make possible one of the main historical demands of the residents of the capital, such as the transformation, conditioning and improvement of this part of the coastline, which after the works will be the recreation and bathing point that they have been waiting for so long”.
The Island Director of Tourism, Laura Castro, pointed out the importance of this project for Santa Cruz and for the Island in general, and linked it to other actions that are being promoted by the Cabildo for the improvement of the Island’s coastline, “projects of improvement of the tourist infrastructures that those of us who live here enjoy and also, very importantly, those who come to the island to spend a few days on vacation,” he added.
With the approval of this payment, the Cabildo complies with the co-financing agreement for the works signed in 2019 with the Port Authority of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, together with the Santa Cruz City Council and the Ministry of Tourism, Industry and Commerce of the Government of the Canary Islands . The Cabildo is facing 24.5% of the financing for the project, a total of 4,350,884 euros, which it was agreed to pay to the Port Authority in four annual installments, between 2019 and 2022.
