SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, March 14. (EUROPE PRESS) –
The Ministry of Justice will allocate an additional 14.7 million euros to the Canary Islands for technological innovation projects within the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan, for which the Autonomous Community will have received 25 million euros of the total funds distributed among the Autonomous Communities for the development of investment projects considered a priority for the transformation of the public service of Justice.
This was announced by the Minister of Justice, Pilar Llop, after visiting the headquarters of the courts of Los Llanos de Aridane, on the island of La Palma, where she explained that these items are intended to advance the objective of modernizing the Administrations and continue undertaking the priority projects of the Justice 2030 Plan within the framework of the Recovery and Resilience Mechanism (MRR).
Pilar Llop explained that of the 410 million euros that the Ministry has received for digital transformation from the European funds of the MRR to address a joint program of structural reforms of the public service of Justice, a prior transfer has already been made to the Autonomous Communities in which the Canary Islands received 8.6 million euros.
The minister advanced that next week a Justice sectoral conference will be held, which will take place in Avilés, where a new distribution will be made for this year and, probably, for 2023, and in which there will be a new allocation of 14.7 million euros for the Canary Islands, for which, in total, it will receive 25 million allocated to the technological axis from the European funds of the MRR.
Regarding the construction of the new courts of Los Llanos de Aridane and Santa Cruz de La Palma, the Minister of Public Administrations, Justice and Security of the Government of the Canary Islands, Julio Pérez, indicated that in both judicial districts two files are underway to exchange the headquarters of its courts by lots where the Ministry will build new buildings.
Julio Pérez pointed out that in Los Llanos the process is more advanced, because there is already an identified plot where the new building will be designed and built. He added that in Santa Cruz de La Palma the plot has not yet been identified, but the City Council and the Cabildo are already making efforts to find one that is suitable.
In another order of things, the minister wanted to thank the personnel of the courts, lawyers, solicitors, property registrars and notaries for the work they have carried out during the eruption of the volcano, as well as the banana sector, with which Today, Monday, he plans to hold a meeting.
