The strong waves leave a second victim in Fuerteventura

An emergency device has been searching since Saturday for a person who disappeared at sea when bathing on the Bajamar coast, in Tenerife, while this Sunday a woman of about 50 years has died after being rescued from the sea in Fuerteventura.

Its about second death on the Canary coast in the last hours since yesterday 1-1-2 reported the death of a person who a wave dragged in the Pozo de las Calcosas, on the island of El Hierro.

The rescue this Sunday took place at 7:20 a.m. on the coast of the municipality of Pájara, in Fuerteventurawhen the Emergency and Security Coordination Center (CECOES) 1-1-2 of the Government of the Canary Islands received an alert informing them that a woman with symptoms of drowning had been taken out of the water and that she was in cardiorespiratory arrest.

The coordinating doctor of the SUC, present in the operating room on 1-1-2, gave instructions by telephone to the alerters who were with her so that they perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation maneuvers until the arrival of emergency resources.

Upon the arrival of the SUC, despite the resuscitation maneuvers carried out, they finally confirmed the death of the affected woman, a foreign woman in her 50s.

Regarding the search for another person who disappeared yesterday on the coast of Bajamar, sources from the emergency service have indicated that a helicopter from the Emergency and Rescue Group and another from the Maritime Rescue are taking turns in the search, as well as a device that is also looking for land.

The Helimer rescued another swimmer in the same area who was in trouble yesterday afternoon and transferred him to the Tenerife airport and from there he was transferred to a hospital as he had erosions and hypothermia.

Also yesterday two other people were rescued in Las Canteras and in Callao Salvaje Beach, in the south of Tenerife.

The General Directorate of Security and Emergencies has declared an alert due to poor sea conditions.
