VALVERDE (THE IRON), 12 Mar. (EUROPA PRESS) –
A woman has died this Saturday morning after being dragged by a wave in the Pozo de Las Calcosas, a natural pool located on the coast of the municipality of Valverde (El Hierro).
As reported by the Coordinating Center for Emergencies and Security (Cecoes) 112, around 09:20 an alert warned that a wave had carried a person out of the natural pool and that they saw him floating in the sea.
A helicopter from the Emergency and Rescue Group of the Government of the Canary Islands (GES) came to the scene, which located the affected woman and evacuated her to the vicinity of the island’s hospital.
An advanced life support ambulance from the Canary Emergency Service (SUC) was waiting there, whose staff could only confirm the death of the woman.
For its part, the Civil Guard instructed the corresponding proceedings and took charge of the body until the arrival of the judicial authority.
Finally, Maritime Rescue, Local Police, Civil Protection and Environment personnel also participated in the deployed device.
