Councilor and spokesman for PSOE on the City Council of La Orotava, Manuel Gonzalezannounces that he is leaving the Villero City Council after 15 years as mayor and four elections as number one of the socialist candidacy in the municipality. González resigns from the act “for personal reasons” and stresses that he will continue in the party “as a grassroots militant.” The PSOE has not yet confirmed who will replace him in the Corporation, although he is ranked number six in the socialist candidacy Immaculate Pachecoand in the seven appears the Secretary of Organization of the Socialist Association of La Orotava, Samuel Mesa.

Manuel Gonzalezwho has been the leader of the PSOE villero since 2007, has already submitted his resignation as mayor, but his effective resignation will take place in the next plenary session scheduled for March 29 in La Orotava. Then the Electoral Board will be in charge of notifying the name of your surrogate.

González has insisted that he makes this decision thinking about the future of the PSOE, after having been Socialist candidate for the Northern City Council elections four times (2007, 2011, 2015 and 2019). “It is time to step aside and let renewal and change continue to drive the PSOE project in our municipality,” he highlights. The villeros socialists currently have a total of five councilors, thanks to a gradual increase in votes in the last 15 years. In 2007 she achieved three mayors; in 2015 there were four, and in 2019 the current five were reached.

After being a local socialist candidate in four elections, Manuel González gives way to the renewal of the PSOE from Villero
