
The Cabildo, through the Tenerife Science and Technology Park (PCTT), and the Santa Cruz City Council, through the Development Society, have signed an agreement for the development of skills, abilities and skills aimed at the different groups of the municipality, in the field of innovation and entrepreneurship. The agreement was presented yesterday by the first vice president and insular councilor for Innovation, Enrique Arriaga, and the mayor of Santa Cruz, José Manuel Bermúdez, at the Miramar Municipal Employment and Training Center, accompanied by councilors Alfonso Cabello and Gladis de León.
The main action of the agreement is to carry out training linked to audiovisual animation, with the aim of providing the Island with highly qualified professionals, training them in state-of-the-art technologies and development methodologies and linking them to job placement.
Arriaga stressed that “the Cabildo is working to create quality employment linked to the technological and audiovisual sector”, to which he added that “it is about achieving a complementary economy to the tourism sector”. Meanwhile, Bermúdez explained that the objective is to continue collaborating to promote greater labor insertion, work in new market niches related to technology and, in addition, “we have done it in a space that is a commitment of the City Council to generate in Santa Cruz the which is called the knowledge industry, a place where companies, administrations and entities can develop projects and training programs”.
In addition, the training that PCTT will develop in the Municipal Center will promote the improvement of the competitiveness of SMEs, especially in terms of innovation and the development of new products and services. At the same time, actions will be carried out, such as the employment deposit forums, talks on entrepreneurship programs, talks on technology and innovation, and training in digitization.
The recipients of the actions linked to the agreement will be young people of legal age, professionals who carry out a professional activity on their own (entrepreneurs), entrepreneurs or technical personnel and/or managers of SMEs, preferably located in the municipality of Santa Cross.
