The sale of second-hand vehicles fell by 3.11% in the Canary Islands in February

The National Association of Vehicle Dealers (Ancove) has reported this Monday that the sale of used cars, or second hand, in the Canary Islands fell by 3.11 percent during February, a month in which a total of 6,511 vehicles were sold.

In a note, Ancove has pointed out that the palms (3,642 sales) is the province with the best performance, with a rise of 10.5 percent, while in Santa Cruz de Tenerife sales decreased by 16.23 percent, after 2,869 vehicles were sold.

In the accumulated of the year in the Canary Islands, this entity has added, 12,446 units have been transferred, 0.6% less than in the same period of 2021.

Meanwhile, the national average registered an increase of 0.3% in February, with the sale in Spain of 143,359 second-hand cars, a decrease of 2.4% compared to the same month in 2021.

Thus, in the first two months of the year, 274,389 units have been transferred with a slight increase of 0.3% compared to the same period last year.

“The second-hand market is still not starting in 2022, since in the accumulated figure for the year it barely rose three tenths compared to the same period of the previous year. The good news is that customers are opting for safer channels such as buying and selling, whose sales are growing at a faster rate than the rest of the market”, declared the president of Ancove, Elías Iglesias.
