CC demands guarantees that the 33 neighbors will continue to live in El Puertito

Expand the beach area, create natural spaces that add value to the environment, a five-kilometre wooden walkway, a four-kilometre bike path, tiered pools, lakes, visually concealing landscaping through gardening, and constructions in the form of five-star tourist villas; high voltage networks, sanitation and telecommunications, road access in good conditions and distanced from the coastline and car parks make up the future of El Puertito de Adeje. It will be so if, finally, the tourism macro-project announced by the mayor of Adeje, José Miguel Rodríguez Fraga, in September 2014 materializes. Now that the file is ongoing, Canarian Coalition (CC) It demands that the houses be protected so that the 33 neighbors “can continue living there as they always have.”

Óliver Tacoronte, a nationalist spokesman, announces that his formation will defend the inhabitants of this city “as far as necessary”. “unique coastal area of Adeje against private urban development and tourism projects”. Remember that CC denounced this situation in January 2015 after the municipal government approved a specific modification of sector 6 of the General Planning Plan (PGO), through which “it was proposed that the homes of El Puertito located at the foot of the coast had commercial use, prohibiting residential use.

31% buildability. The total area affected is estimated at 442,750 square meters, of which 119,994 square meters have buildable tourist use, with 11,454 for commercial spaces

The allegations presented by the Canarian Coalition to maintain residential use, compatible with the tertiary and commercial “were dismissed,” Tacoronte reproaches. The councilor highlights that the government group “became aware of the urban initiative, proceeding to approve the establishment of private execution, as well as the urbanization, subdivision and expropriation project.”

Transparency, respect and clarity with the residents of El Puertito is a demand that addresses the municipal government. In this line of argument, during the plenary session held by the Consistory on February 25, the local spokesman He asked if, finally, the houses will become commercial, if residential use will be allowed, what will happen to the neighbors who do not have the required documentation regarding their homes and whether their properties will be respected or they will be transferred to another residential area. Oliver Tacoronte shows his discomfort at the silence of the government group to such a questionnaire.

In this sense, the mayor of CC pointed out that “we held a meeting with the neighborhood association of El Puertito, where we listened to their concerns and worries and told them that we were going to request in writing a copy of the project that is intended to be undertaken, as well as a copy of the notifications to the non-adhering owners, the publication of the BOP and that of the electronic headquarters of the City Council of which not even the residents of El Puertito were aware ».

180 million. It is the amount of private investment to develop the tourist and residential project that is proposed for El Puertito, as announced seven years ago

The Adeje Town Hall approved, in the ordinary plenary session held on September 26, 2014, the specific modification of sector 6 of the General Development Plan (PGO). He refers to El Puertito, “one of the most deprived areas of the municipality since, due to its configuration, it lacks basic infrastructure.” The project to be developed was presented with the guarantee of preserving the nucleus.

The total area affected is estimated at 442,750 square meters, of which 119,994 square meters have buildable tourist use -with a buildable area of 31%-, 11,454 square meters for commercial spaces, another 25,258 square meters for recreational and sports use, green areas They add up to 107,699 square meters, 3.7 kilometers of bike lanes and 5 kilometers of pedestrian route.
