SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, March 5. (EUROPE PRESS) –
The president of the Cabildo de Tenerife, Pedro Martín, and the Government delegate, Anselmo Pestana, have held a meeting with members of the Ukrainian Oberig Association to find out about the situation of the people residing on the island and to take an interest in the tourists who were in Tenerife and who, after the conflict began, cannot return to their country.
Pedro Martín explained that the Cabildo is collaborating as much as possible with the people who have remained on the island to coordinate actions that guarantee temporary accommodation for those families who are in a more urgent situation and has already contacted the hotel establishment. in which they are, which has shown its total willingness until a more stable alternative is found.
The meeting addressed the situation that is taking place with the exodus of Ukrainians to all of Europe and the Government delegate in the Canary Islands has collected information from the people who are on the island and who cannot return to their country, in addition to advise them on the European agreement to guarantee the protection of refugees from Ukraine.
This meeting was also attended by the third vice president of the Cabildo and island councilor for Social Action, Marián Franquet; the CEO of Citizen Participation and Diversity, Nauzet Gugliotta, and the CEO of Foreign Action, Liskel Álvarez.
