The National Police has arrested five people between the ages of 22 and 35, with no police record, as alleged perpetrators of a crime of attacking law enforcement officers, injuries and against public order in the area of the Cuadrilátero de La Laguna, in Tenerife . The agents were attacked while trying to resolve a brawl between two groups of people.
The events occurred in the early hours of March 1. During the deployment of the device established in the leisure area known as the Quadrilateral, the national police officers heard screams coming from the vicinity of a local. When they went they saw a group of six young people attacking each other, so the agents intervened trying to break up the fight, the Police reported.
At that moment and surprisingly, far from giving up their attitude, the participants in the brawl attacked the law enforcement officers in a “very aggressive and hostile” manner, who were “constantly attacked”, until they managed to reduce and stop to four of the authors, adds the police force. Hours later, a young woman who had also participated was arrested. As a result of these events, seven officers were slightly injured. After instructing the corresponding report, the detainees were placed at the disposal of the competent judicial authority.
A few hours before, Santa Cruz de Tenerife, national police officers came to support the Local Police in anticipation of altercations in the vicinity of a nightclub near the Parque Marítimo, given the existence of some 500 people waiting and trying to access it. without sufficient capacity inside, not keeping the necessary safety distance and refusing to vacate the place.
