Oliver and David were two references in the world of climbing. GIVES

Óliver and David, the two mountaineers who died on March 7, 2021 when climbing the area known as La Catedral, in the Teide National Park, will be honored this Sunday with the First March of Enthusiasm, coinciding with the first anniversary of the accident.

The activity, promoted by the Grupo Montañero Granadilla, will start at 9 in the morning from the Madre del Agua track (main exit), at the intersection of the Lunar Landscape path, and will end in the Ucanca Valley, where climbers died. Other groups will leave from the town of Granadilla, Vilaflor, Cruz de Tea, the hamlet of El Pinal or even from the Parador del Teide.

“We would love to meet up in the Ucanca Valley on Sunday with all the friends and neighbors who want to enjoy a day in a location where Oli and David enjoyed so many hours”, is indicated from the Grupo Montañero Granadilla, which underlines the spirit ” enthusiastic” -hence the name of the march- of the ill-fated athletes.

From the group it is specified that it is a “self-managed” activity, which “is not owned by anyone”. Likewise, he calls for responsibility and the first step, he assures, is to be federated. In addition to the march, on Monday a mass will be celebrated in El Médano in memory of Óliver and David.
