La Orotava aspires to tourists and visitors spending more and more time in the town, so that they can soak up the attractions of the Villa and, at the same time, help generate greater economic development. To help achieve this goal, the City Council has six free guideswhich can be downloaded in PDF format at the city websitewhich already allow you to discover without intermediaries the heritage, history and curiosities of a municipality that is working to become a World Heritage Site.
The six guides are monographic works dedicated to the tradition of the carpets of flowers and land of Teide; the traces of the Second Republic, the Spanish Civil War and the Franco regime; the spaces dedicated to death; the traditional barns of the midlands; Holy Week, or Freemasonry in La Orotava. Each of these guides, which is also distributed in booklet format in the tourism office, collects stories, significant data and many curiosities that allow the visitor a closer approach to the culture and heritage of the municipality. Through each of these six tours you can assess the architecture and the most emblematic spaces of the Villa, as well as hidden mysteries of Masonic society, part of the historical memory of troubled times or immerse yourself in everything related to death.

The guide to the rugs of La Orotava details the origins and evolution of one of the most deeply rooted traditions. It includes eleven points where you can discover everything that surrounds this spectacular sample of ephemeral art. With the guidance of spaces of death you can discover special corners such as the Mausoleum of the Marquis of the Quinta Roja, the Church of San Juan, the cemetery or the Church of La Concepción.
Traces of Freemasonry they can be found in the cemetery, in the Gardens of La Quinta Roja, the pantheon of Diego Ponte del Castillo, the house of Hermann Wildpret Soder or the Hermandad del Calvario. A total of 12 places where Freemasonry is present are collected. With the guide on historical memory, it includes 15 unique points and stories. The path of the haystacks It takes place from Aguamansa to the Ethnographic Museum of Pinolere, passing through Mamio, the haystack of the mediator or the church of Pinolere. The Holy Week Guide It values all the historical, anthropological, religious and cultural heritage that the Villa treasures.
