The Los Realejos City Council awarded three of the four commercial premises located on the ground floor of Plaza Viera and Clavijo, on Avenida de Los Remedios. Its reform required an investment of 149,581 euros with its own financing. The accidental mayor and Councilor for Contracting and Heritage, Noelia González, indicated that the activity may begin in September and announced that the fourth location will again be the subject of a new adjudication process shortly.
The reform and comprehensive adaptation of these premises, given the advanced state of deterioration that they presented due to their age and the effects of the leaks and humidity derived from the pavement of the Viera y Clavijo square itself, included the interior remodeling, the treatment of the coatings and paintings, as well as the replacement of flooring and water and electricity installations. On the outside, the closing of the facades with more modern urban finishes was undertaken, in keeping with the aesthetics and architecture of the square. It was used to bury the electrical and telephone lines by removing them from the facades of the premises.
The four enclosures, of different surfaces, add up to 251 square meters of built area. It is worth mentioning that local number 4, the closest to the access steps to the square on Avenida de Los Remedios, incorporated the bathrooms that the square had to its useful surface, while premises 1, 2 and 3 maintained the previous configuration and dimensions, solving with an accessibility ramp the difference in height that two of them have to bridge inside.
Likewise, Noelia González informs that “the concession for the bar kiosk in Plaza Viera y Clavijo is also close to being awarded.” The acting mayor explains, after inspecting the space, that in the next few days the corresponding adjudication procedure will conclude, convened and developed outside of the one carried out for commercial premises by the municipal government of Los Realejos.
