SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Feb. 28 (EUROPE PRESS) –

The Cabildo de Tenerife, through the Insular Foundation for Training, Employment and Business Development (Fifede), has opened this Monday the deadline to enroll in the free course on industrial maintenance of wind turbines, which will be taught among unemployed people within the training program on new employment niches.

The Minister of Employment, Socioeconomic Development and Foreign Action, Carmen Luz Baso, explains in a note that this initiative is part of the new training offer designed by the Cabildo to meet the growing demand for qualified professionals that exists in emerging sectors of the economy, such as renewable energy.

“The objective is to favor the training of unemployed people in a booming sector such as wind energy, professionally training them in the mechanical maintenance of wind turbines, in order to respond to the productivity and competitiveness needs of companies in this field. that operate in Tenerife”, adds the minister.

The training includes 370 hours of theory and 160 hours of non-work practices in companies, and consists of three modules: assembly and mechanical maintenance, maintenance of wind turbines and vertical work.

Its development is co-financed by the Canary Islands Development Fund (Fdcan), within the Strategic Framework for Insular Development (Medi).

The registration period ends on March 11 and the training is expected to begin at the end of the same month of March, in the metropolitan area of ​​the island, offering the possibility of requesting a transport scholarship to students who need it.

Aimed at unemployed people, those interested in participating must have the necessary qualifications to access a certificate of professionalism of qualification level 2 and be a resident of the island of Tenerife, at least during the last year.

In addition to this course, the Cabildo plans to provide other training this year to train unemployed people in different activities related to the consolidation of a more sustainable energy model, such as photovoltaic self-consumption and the installation of electric vehicle recharging points in homes. , and the maintenance of motorcycles and electric vehicles.
