Traffic cut to Camino La Cañada due to landslides. CECOPAL La Orotava

The bad weather has caused damage in various areas of the island of Tenerife, such as Santa Cruz or La Orotava. This has been notified throughout this Saturday by the different emergency services on social networks.

In Santa Cruz, for example, the Local Police have indicated, shortly after 4:00 p.m., that there have been landslides on the road that connects Benijo and Almáciga. And agents of the Civil Guard and personnel of the Highway Service have moved to this area of the capital.

For its part, the Security area of the City Council of La Orotava has been forced to cut off traffic on Camino La Cañada (down direction) due to the detachment of the wall of a farm, allowing access exclusively to residents.

The Security area of the Cabildo de Tenerife has also informed that the route of the Masca ravine will remain closed tomorrow due to the forecast of adverse meteorological phenomena in the Teno Rural Park area.

And it is that the Canary Islands will continue this Sunday in yellow notice due to strong winds and waves; The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) foresees gusts that could reach 70 kilometers per hour, mainly in high areas.

forecast for sunday

The weather forecast for tomorrow indicates that in the north and inland areas it will be cloudy with probable rains, which could be persistent and in the form of a shower; and in the rest of the areas there will be cloudy intervals without ruling out weak and occasional rains.

In addition, weak precipitation in the form of snow during the early morning on high peaks is not ruled out, as reported by the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet).

The temperatures will be with few changes, except for a slight rise in the maximum in the south, and the thermometers will oscillate between a maximum of 21 degrees in Tenerife and a minimum of 13 degrees on the island of El Hierro.

The wind will blow from the northeast from moderate to strong, with probable gusts that could reach 70 km/h, mainly in the extreme west, southwest slope and summits.
