The Ministry of Tourism, Industry and Commerce of the Government of the Canary Islands and the Department of Commerce of Arafo come together with the aim of improving the Farmer’s Market, increasing its competitiveness and increasing the added value of the products that are marketed there.
The improvement actions will be possible thanks to a subsidy of 9,929 euros granted by the Ministry and the municipal contribution, amounting to 3,9861 euros. The objective is to reduce the negative effects of covid-19 on the consumption of local products by favoring their commercialization, promoting the visit of potential users by disseminating an improved image that supports the businessmen who are part of the market (farmers, ranchers, confectioners, artisans , etc.), improving its appearance and furniture, as well as promoting the inclusion of new positions that would be added to the existing ones.
“These improvements in the Arafo Farmer’s Market come to complement a series of actions carried out in recent years,” explains the mayor, Juan Ramón Martín, who refers to the supply of tents for each stall and bags that unify and promote this trade. “We continually try to adapt the installation to the needs and demands of the vendors, trying, together, to find the best solution to solve them,” explains the Arafero councilor
