The City Council of El Rosario has decreed the closure, at night, of the Adelantado forest, in the town of La Esperanza, with the aim of avoiding the practice of the ‘bottle’, verified by cleaning workers, and which occurs above all during the weekends, as well as various acts of vandalism carried out at night and that would be related to the death of two of the ducks that live in the pond in the square.
The closure of the Adelantado forest will take place between 9:30 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. and complies with the Covid-19 regulation, which advises the closure of public spaces “in which the holding of bottles is foreseeable or in which agglomerations may occur” .
It so happens that the mayor of El Rosario, Escolástico Gil, had already made an echo on his social networks this past weekend of the death of one of the ducks that have lived, for many years, in the pond of the Plaza del Adelantado, not due to natural causes but as a result of acts of vandalism committed during the night, when several large stones were found next to the animal, “thrown with the undoubted intention of hurting it to the point of causing death,” says the consistory on a note.
On the day of this Monday, the accidental mayor, Sara Cabello, has signed the municipal party that decrees the precinct and closure of the forest at night.
The Local Police have already opened a line of investigation to try to find those responsible for the death of the duck.
