Drop in temperature, clouds, occasional rain and snow this Monday in the Canary Islands

The Canary Islands expect light Mondays drops in temperatures and cloudy skies with occasional showers likelyespecially in the western islands, where a storm and snow above 2,000 meters in Tenerife and La Palma are not ruled out, according to the forecast of the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet)

At sea, north or northeast component wind of force 5 or 6, subsiding to 2 to 4 in the early hours of the night. Strong swell decreasing to tidal wave, north or northwest swell of 3 to 4 meters and some showers.

The forecast by islands for this Monday, February 21, is as follows:

LANZAROTE

Little cloudy or clear with intervals of evolution during the central hours of the day. Minimum temperatures in slight decrease and maximum with few changes. Loose variable wind at the beginning, turning to the east component at noon and northeast in the last hours.

Minimum and maximum temperatures forecast in Arrecife: 12 and 19 °C.

FUERTEVENTURA

Little cloudy or clear with intervals of evolution during the central hours of the day. Minimum temperatures in slight decrease and maximum with few changes. Loose variable wind at the beginning, turning to the east component at noon and northeast in the last hours.

Minimum and maximum temperatures forecast in Puerto del Rosario: 14 and 20 °C.

GRAND CANARY

In the north and interior, predominance of cloudy skies with probable occasional precipitation, which will be in the form of showers, but generally weak. At the end of the day, clearings will open up. In the south, cloudy intervals. Minimum temperatures in slight to moderate decrease and maximum with few changes. Weak frosts in high areas are not ruled out. Variable light wind, turning to the east component at noon and to the northeast in the last hours.

Minimum and maximum temperatures forecast in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria: 13 and 19 °C.

TENERIFE

In the north and inland areas, predominance of cloudy skies with occasional rainfall that will be in the form of showers, without ruling out that they are locally strong and are accompanied by an isolated storm. Precipitation will be snow above 2000 meters. Temperatures with few changes or in slight decrease, with frosts in high areas. Loose variable wind, tending to this component in the afternoon.

Minimum and maximum temperatures forecast in Santa Cruz de Tenerife: 14 and 19 °C.

LA GOMERA

In the north and inland areas, predominance of cloudy skies with occasional rainfall that will be in the form of showers. They will open clear at the end of the day. In the south, cloudy intervals without ruling out occasional and scattered precipitation. Temperatures without changes or in slight decrease. North wind tending to loose direction variable during the morning, and southeast at the end of the day.

Minimum and maximum temperatures forecast in San Sebastián de La Gomera: 14 and 19 °C.

THE PALM

Predominance of cloudy skies with precipitation that will be in the form of a shower, and may be persistent on the north and east slopes. It is not ruled out that they are locally strong and are accompanied by an isolated storm. Precipitation will be snow above 2000 meters. At the end of the day clearings will open. Temperatures with few changes, with frosts in high areas. Northeast wind, decreasing to loose from the east at the end of the day.

Minimum and maximum temperatures forecast in Santa Cruz de La Palma: 14 and 19 °C.

THE IRON

Prevalence of cloudy skies with occasional precipitation that will be in the form of showers, especially in inland areas during the central hours of the day. Temperatures with little change. Northeast wind, decreasing to loose in a variable direction during the afternoon.

Minimum and maximum temperatures forecast in Valverde: 10 and 13 °C.
