The CC-PNC group of the Cabildo de Tenerife announces that it has managed to “promote the pending improvements on the Martiánez tunnel road, in Puerto de la Cruz”. The nationalist councilor Diana Mora explains that “on Friday, February 11, we registered a motion to finalize the improvements to the Martiánez tunnel and five days later, the Cabildo and the Puerto de la Cruz City Council held a meeting to address this problem. Thanks to our motion we have managed to speed up the solution.
Diana Mora points out that “it is necessary to complete the work that began in November of last year. The works have not finished and, in addition, the road has a serious problem in terms of channeling rainwater from Aceviño street, in La Paz, since every time we are affected by a storm, the intense rains force cut this access road to Puerto de la Cruz in both directions.
Mora withdrew the motion in the plenary commission on Sustainability, Roads, Innovation and Culture as he did not have the support of all the political groups and criticizes that Sí Podemos Canarias has refused to approve it “because he is more concerned that a headline appears in the press of CC that the problems suffered by road users». The counselor considers the coordination between the administrations involved to end the road closures due to poor channeling of stormwater to be essential.
