The City Council of Los Realejos, through its Department of Youth, directed by José David Cabrera (PP), announces the recovery of the regional project for the youth participation of the municipalities of the Valle de La Orotava Espabilé in this 2022, of which they will take part fifteen young people from Los Realejos, after two years of absence from the initiative due to the pandemic.

This project, promoted by the Council of Youth of the Cabildo de Tenerife and developed by Bencomia, has the support of the municipal areas of Youth of Los Realejos, La Orotava and Puerto de la Cruz. The first deputy mayor of Realejero, Adolfo González, highlights “the good harmony and coordination of the administrations involved to restart this joint initiative that had already added five editions until 2019”.

According to José David Cabrera, «Los Realejos is betting this 2022 on bringing the Espabilé project to what is known as District VI, in the surroundings of Palo Blanco, Las Llanadas, La Ferruja and surroundings, as a pilot experience located in a specific area of the municipality and with the objective that in the coming years it can be extended to others».

«For this edition, the aim is to work with fifteen young people from each of the three municipalities, values such as strength and belonging to groups, teamwork, coexistence, diversity or conflict resolution, among others, putting into value their own proposals and making it easier for them to be protagonists of their decisions”, indicates the Councilor for Youth.

Cabrera advances that “if the conditions of the health emergency allow it, it is intended to hold a regional meeting with all the young participants at the end of the dynamics that are worked on in each municipality separately.” For more information about this project, young people with an interest in it can contact the Municipal Youth House of Los Realejos or their social networks.
