Yesterday, the La Orotava City Council presented the program and the poster for Carnival 2022. The mayor, Francisco Linares, assured that it is an “austere but dignified” program. He pointed out that despite the health situation, the objective is “to keep these traditional celebrations alive and support all the groups related to carnivals and that have miraculously survived, since Carnival is to be experienced and shared in the streets.”
Linares expressed his gratitude to all the villero groups and encouraged them to continue with “that involvement and effort”, since they are “the true protagonists, as well as encouraging families and Orotavenses to enjoy the acts that are carried out with the proper health protocol. He also congratulated the young winner of the poster, Javier Díaz Amador.
