SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Feb. 8 (EUROPE PRESS) –
The president of the Canary Islands, Ángel Víctor Torres, has assured that no professional at the Hospital Insular de Gran Canaria has stopped operating due to having to do emergency shifts due to healthcare pressure due to cases of COVID-19 in the hospital.
This was stated in the control session with the Government, in response to a question from deputy Pablo Rodríguez (CC-PNC) about the actions that are being carried out to put an end to the situation of chaos denounced by the health personnel that the centers suffer hospitable.
Pablo Rodríguez indicated that “the mistreatment to which human capital is subjected, the apathy, the nonsense, the ineffectiveness and the chaos that reigns in the hospital” are just some of the words of “desperation and help” from hundreds of professionals from the Canadian public health.
Faced with this, the president stressed that the sixth wave has meant 45% more positive cases than in all the previous waves in the Canary Islands, which has generated a “stressful” situation in Primary Care, in the hospital response and in ICU occupancy.
Faced with this situation, Torres recalled that contingency plans were put in place and temporary solutions have been sought that will end when the curve bends, as has been done to deal with the situation suffered by the Hospital Insular de Gran Canaria.
Ángel Víctor Torres assured that the Government is going to try to resolve this conflict with this contingency plan, which, he reiterated, is temporary and has been agreed upon with eleven of the twelve heads of service at the hospital and because “nobody has stopped operate to stand guard”.
