In January, the Anaga District, in collaboration with the Santa Cruz Environment area, carried out close to thirty maintenance and cleaning works for tracks, paths and neighborhood accesses to the Anaga Rural Park, in addition to reinforcing stone walls and railings to ensure user safety.

The councilor of Anaga, Inmaculada Fuentes, recalls that the Rural Park “has a network of trails, tracks and rural infrastructure that require maintenance”, to specify that “the development of these small actions has taken place in a complicated month, like January , where we have also had to deal with different landslides due to the rains». “Our intention is to continue investing in Anaga and improve the quality of life,” adds Inmaculada Fuentes.

concrete improvements

The maintenance and cleaning works of the forest trails have included ditches and roads, as well as the elimination of vegetation, stones and earth in Azanos, in Taganana; the track Casas de la Galería, in Catalanes; the Tierras Altas and El Molino tracks, in Taganana; Chamorga; the Morena track, in Roque Negro; the Lomo Bicho track; Brosque Valley, in María Jiménez; the slopes of La Hoya in Los Palmitos and that of Pedro Martín in Roque Negro; the La Meseta track, in Afur; the El Draguillo track and the Campanario track in Almáciga; the Casas de la Cumbre forest track; Brosque Valley and Crispin Valley; and the slopes of Perera in Roque Negro and that of El Draguillo.

In Taborno, a neighborhood access wall has been repaired and a stone wall has been reinforced in Tachero. In La Porquera, in Roque Negro, the railings have been repaired, as in Camino Portugal, in Taganana; while metal fences and a sign have been repaired in Benijo and Roque de las Bodegas, respectively; and railings in Almáciga.

The Councilor for the Environment, Evelyn Alonso, recalls that the actions are included in the maintenance and conservation contract for rural infrastructure in the Anaga Rural Park.
