CB Lanzarote Puerto del Carmen wins Handball Salud Tenerife again this Sunday at the Municipal de Tías (25-16) in a match corresponding to matchday 18. A resounding victory that is reminiscent of the comfortable one achieved in the first leg in Tenerife Municipal del Barrio de la Salud (11-31) on the fifth day of the national Silver Division.
As usual in Silver, there is no middle ground. There is a lot of equality, although yes, equality between those above and equality among those below. But the difference between the two areas is abysmal, except for well-calibrated winter signings. This is the case of the Canarian derby between the tiñoseras and the chicharreras. In the two hours of the accumulated match, it never seemed that Tenerife could disturb Juanmi Pérez’s players in the least. This is endorsed by the classification, where Tenerife occupies the last place without knowing the victory and Puerto del Carmen remains fourth.
It is fair to recognize that Tenerife arrived at the match with just enough troops and that this issue was much more noticeable as the minutes of play passed. They endured in the game until the physical allowed it, as simple as that.
Paula Martín was the top scorer among the chicharreras with 5 goals. In the ranks of Lanzarote Puerto del Carmen Lucía Betancort and Carolina Charlo were the top scorers with 6 goals each.
Next week the Tiñosero team travels to the Unión Financiera field, a team that has just won at the Siero field (30-36), is sixth with 17 points and has two players among the top scorers in the group, Jana Pinilla is the submachine gun par excellence in the league with 109 goals, in third place in the league is her teammate María Paula Fernández with 105 goals.
