The aboriginal term that was used as the cry of the fishermen when the boats went out to sea, Audiré, is the name of the project for the promotion of healthy habits and the prevention of drug addiction developed by the Los Realejos City Council. With a validity of four months (until the middle of next December), it will initially focus on Icod el Alto, upon detecting a series of indicators that make intervention with the youth community necessary.
The Hopscotch Association develops the work, which includes awareness, prevention and substance use workshops starting in educational centers, associations and other places. During the months of validity of the project, a telephone service will be implemented for addictions and tutorials for individualized attention on consumption and social work. Likewise, the development of a guide of sports, leisure and educational resources for the prevention of addictions is announced, in addition to developing an awareness campaign on social networks along the same lines.
