Led by Javier Gurruchaga, the recital will allow you to enjoy great successes such as Neon Heart, Put on a wig, Lola, Lola, Human Claws, Little Red Riding Hood or Travel with us.

Marlango is a pop group with clear jazz and blues influences. Its name comes from the song “I wish I was in new Orleans” by Tom Waits, one of its references. The project Marlango It arose at the end of the year 98 in Madrid when Leonor Watling, lyricist and vocalist, and Alejandro Pelayo, pianist and composer, recorded a demo with fourteen themes for piano and voice. On October 22, they will be the protagonists of the CajaCanarias Cultural Autumn in Tenerife (tickets soon: 20 euros), where they will travel through their discography, with special attention to their most recent work: Technicolor (2018), in addition to presenting his latest composition, entitled The hangover and recorded during the period of confinement.

The musical program for the month of October will conclude with the concert by Jane Bunnett & Maqueque (29th. Tickets soon: 20 euros). What began five years ago as a project to record and guide young and brilliant Cuban music talents, has become one of the best groups on the North American jazz scene. In the last year, they have played big jazz festivals, like Newport and Monterey; have appeared on NPR shows Jazz night in America and in the TIny Desk Concert; were nominated for a Grammy Award for their most recent release, Oddara, and most recently were voted one of the top ten jazz groups by a poll among critics by the prestigious magazine. Downbeat.

The music will play again at the CajaCanarias 2021 Cultural Autumn on November 11 (tickets coming soon: 20 euros), through the exquisite voice of Ina Forsman. His first self-titled album seduced the music press, in 2016, since Classic Rock until Blues blast. That year, during the tour Blues Caravan Through the United States and Europe, she makes a name for herself and cannot stop the flow of new songs that come to her mind and that has made her a true musical phenomenon in Finland, her country of origin.

Two days later (November 13. Tickets coming soon: 20 euros), it is the turn of flamenco rhythms in this edition of the CajaCanarias Cultural Autumn through one of the leading couples on the current scene: Israel Fernández and Diego del Morao. Love It is the name that gives title to the latest album by both artists and the most personal work of the young singer from Toledo, as well as the prelude to the next album by the Jerez-born genius of the sonanta.

The Saint Petersburg Chamber Orchestra, founded in 1990 by musicians graduated from the renowned Rimsky-Korsakov Conservatory of the Russian city, is undoubtedly one of the most important musical ambassadors of their country and will be, on November 27 (entries soon: 25 euros), the finishing touch to the calendar of musical performances of the CajaCanarias Cultural Autumn 2021. The orchestra impressively reflects the musical talent and high level of musical education of its city. A wide repertoire that ranges from Baroque to contemporary music has made it one of the most sought-after chamber ensembles in Europe, led since 1998 by the charismatic conductor Juri Gilbo.

Folklore Cycle

The CajaCanarias Cultural Autumn 2021 has programmed, in the Cultural Space of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, a folklore cycle consisting of four performances, to be held on November 5, 12, 19 and 26 (8:00 p.m.). This programming will begin with the Conversations with Gardel, by the group “Tangatos”. Questions, affirmations and personal and contemporary approaches coexist with original tango lyrics and music impregnated with passion and protest; intimacy and reflection; intuition and subtlety; joy and gratitude. The musical and scenic versatility of the characters, and the deep certainty that Gardel is present with them, generate complicity, truth and illusion to enter the viewer into an innovative imaginary that moves away from the prevailing tango canons. A dynamic, organic and poetic musical and theatrical show in which word, music and movement come together to set the course for introspection, tolerance, solidarity and love.

Seven days later (November 12), the CajaCanarias Cultural Space of Santa Cruz de Tenerife will receive the Verode group, which has fourteen long-duration record works to its credit and was founded in 1977, with the essential objective of rescuing and disseminating the traditional and popular music from the Canaries. The Tajaraste Group, for its part, was established as a Cultural Association in 1984 and is made up of approximately sixty members, which make up the dance corps, party and mixed choir and which will perform on November 19.

This folklore cycle, part of the CajaCanarias 2021 Cultural Autumn program, will come to an end on November 26 with the performance of Troveros de Asieta, who will present in concert a repertoire that includes the most emblematic themes of their latest discographic works, in the one that makes a journey through different genres and rhythms of Cuban music, in which there is also room for select instrumentals fused with jazz, combining their own songs with versions interpreted in the genuine style of the group.

On October 8 (8:00 pm) it will be the turn of the brilliant winner of the “Alberto Delgado” CajaCanarias 2021 Young Music Award, Paula Espinosa. The singer-songwriter from Gran Canaria won the fourth edition, held last July, of this award, a contest that was born with the intention of promoting and boosting the artistic career of young people, as well as stimulating creativity and the effort of composers and music fans in general.

On November 6, for its part, the CajaCanarias Cultural Space of Santa Cruz de Tenerife will receive the winners of the last two calls for the “María Orán” Music Award, held in the modalities of chamber music and song, respectively.
