The General Directorate of Cultural Heritage of the Canary Islands Governmentat the request of the City Hall of Buenavista del Norte, has financed with 16,044 euros the drafting of the preliminary project for the restoration of the House of Don Nicolás, recently acquired by the northern Consistory. The Councilor for Cultural Heritage, Esteban Lorenzo (SSP), points out that this preliminary project will offer “data to study in depth the current state of the building, the interventions to be carried out, the possibilities of use according to the proposed program of needs and the approximate costs of the actions intended in a property of these characteristics. The approximate cost of the works is 2,331,000 euros.
The main uses proposed are offices for municipal services; multipurpose rooms for exhibitions, acts and activities; ethnographic center and museum on the history of Buenavista del Norte, and possible site for the archives of Manuel Lorenzo Perera and the municipal historical archive.
