The Cabildo promotes a campaign to raise awareness among Baccalaureate students about the reality of migration on the Island. The Minister of Citizen Participation, Nauzet Gugliotta, has attended a talk at the IES Santa Ana together with the mayor of Candelaria, Mari Brito that seeks to make young people aware of the problems of social vulnerability of citizenship.
The training action, aimed at a hundred students, is part of the campaign I’m counting on you from the Tenerife Solidarity Island program, dependent on Sinpromi. It has the support of voluntary entities from the third sector and thirty centers on the Island have joined this course. Gugliotta and Brito starred in one of the informative talks whose objective is to make the educational community aware of the social problems in their environment.
The objective is that students can work on issues such as homeless people, intellectual disabilities or displaced people. Gugliotta appreciates the support of the Prosocial Association El Carmen Se Mueve, from Arafo, in charge of the conference. In addition, the educational center has exhibited for two weeks graphic material from two exhibitions offered by the International Cooperation Association focused on the homeless and the volunteering that can be developed around them.
