SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Jan. 31 (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Cabildo de Tenerife has revalidated the outstanding in the latest transparency evaluation published by the Canary Islands Transparency Commissioner and relating to 2020. In addition, the 37 entities dependent on the Island Corporation have obtained a remarkably high average (8.72) which which represents an improvement with respect to the 8.23 obtained the previous year,

The second vice president and councilor for the Presidency, Treasury and Modernization of the Cabildo, Berta Pérez, highlighted that 92% of the entities have obtained a 7 or more in the evaluation and eight of them have obtained a 10, compared to the four that were in 2019.

Berta Pérez explained that this improvement in transparency in the public entities of the Cabildo is a reflection of the effort that the Island Corporation has made within the framework of the Tenerife Cabildo Modernization Plan 2020-2023.

“One of our priorities that we set ourselves at the beginning of the mandate was precisely to guarantee society access to public policies and the administrative management that we are carrying out, as a fundamental step to consolidate a closer island administration, which maintains a communication with citizens,” said the vice president.

Along these lines, the vice president added that in April of last year the Cabildo approved the Transparency, Access to Information and Reuse Regulations, by which the transparency obligations are adapted, regulating both the obligations to publish transparency information, such as the procedure for accessing said information and the publication in reusable formats by citizens and reuse procedures.

For his part, the insular director of Modernization, Daniel González, explained that in recent years various actions have been launched to improve the transparency portal of the Cabildo, “in order both to increase the content available and open to society , as well as to make it more accessible and easy to use. On the other hand, an instruction is being developed that clarifies the responsibilities and the scope of each of the information topics to be published”.

THE IASS AND SINPROMI AMONG THE BEST VALUED

In total, the number of entities that have obtained an outstanding in transparency has increased from 16 to 21. Of these, 40% achieved a 10.

Among those that obtained the best score is the Insular Institute for Social and Socio-Sanitary Care (IASS) which, for the second consecutive year, achieved the highest possible score (10) and the Insular Society for the Promotion of Persons with Disabilities (Sinpromi), whose transparency index almost doubled, going from 5.40 points to 10.

The third vice-president and counselor of Social Action, Marián Franquet, highlighted the continuous work that has been carried out since the first year of her mandate to be totally transparent in the management of resources and social services that are provided to citizens. “From the first minute we wanted to make Tenerife’s society participate in the social care we provide, making all actions transparent as a fundamental part of our public policies,” he said.

The list of island entities that have obtained a ten in transparency also includes the Tenerife Tax Consortium, which has doubled the score, going from 5.40 to 10 in one year; the Insular Foundation for Training, Employment and Business Development (FIFEDE); the Insular Craft Company; the Granadilla Industrial Estate; the Tenerife Auditorium, and Tenerife Space for the Arts.
