SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Jan. 29 (EUROPA PRESS) –

CC de Tenerife has asked the Government of the Canary Islands for a “real digitization” of educational centers, as reported by the nationalist formation after holding a meeting with the Tenerife Island Federation of Associations of Parents of Students (Fitapa).

The meeting, held this week, served to analyze the situation experienced by the island’s students and AMPAS and, in turn, collect the demands of this group in order to seek solutions to the problems generated by the impact of the pandemic.

Among other aspects, the nationalists assured that “one of the problems caused by the pandemic is the evidence of the digital gap that exists in education on the island”, a situation in which “the Government of the Canary Islands has done nothing to avoid”.

In this regard, the island secretary general of CC de Tenerife, Francisco Linares, called on the Canarian government to put an end to this situation, since “the Executive announced a large investment in digitization, but it has not reached schools or students. For example, a rain of tablets was announced that has never arrived.”

For this reason, the nationalist urged the Government of the Canary Islands to carry out a “real and remote” digitization of the island’s schools.

In the meeting with José Manuel Delgado, president of Fipata, the secretary of the Organization of the Canary Coalition of Tenerife, Rosa Dávila; and Manuel Jorge Pérez, from the Fundación Canaria Siglo XXI.

In addition, the Tenerife nationalists addressed other issues, such as the impact of the omicron variant in the classroom, the lack of teachers or the situation of the school councils. In this sense, Linares announced that CC de Tenerife will meet again with this group to continue collecting their concerns and demands.
