The City Council of Santiago del Teide carried out, a few days ago, the transfer of second grants intended for self-employed people and local SMEs to mitigate the economic impact of COVID-19.
In total, the council has distributed nearly €67,000 to 137 self-employed people and local SMEs. Thus, each local autonomous person has received a fixed amount of 500.00 euros.
The City Council with this second line of subsidy carried out in the recently completed year 2021 has wanted, like the one carried out in the year 2020 with the arrival of the pandemic, to provide support to the economic activity of the business fabric of the municipality, through the establishment of Aid aimed at preserving the activity of the different sectors that have been affected by the crisis situation caused by COVID-19, alleviating the financial tension that this group has to face.
Consequently, the purpose pursued with the direct granting of economic aid to self-employed persons and micro-enterprises that are included in the scope of application of these bases has been to contribute to the maintenance of the usual current expenses that these businesses have continued to bear despite the lack or decrease in income experienced, thus contributing to its economic viability.
