SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Jan. 27 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Government Council of the Canary Islands approved this Thursday the specific modification of four agreements signed with two island councils to extend the execution and justification deadlines for the projects of the Canary Islands Development Fund (Fdcan) for the year 2020 until the second half of the current year .
These are, specifically, the councils of La Gomera, La Palma, Lanzarote and Fuerteventura.
The Executive’s agreement is adopted after the request made by the island corporations, which wield difficulties in meeting the deadlines due to the consequences of the pandemic and, in the case of La Palma, also due to the volcanic eruption.
In any case, the request for extensions to which the Government of the Canary Islands has been accessing as a sign of inter-administrative collaboration has become common in the execution of the Fdcan.
The term for the realization of the funds of the 2020 annuity was foreseen in all the agreements for July 31, 2021 and, the justification for October 31, 2021, except in the case of Fuerteventura, which had already been modified with maturity on December 31, 2021 and March 31, 2022, respectively.
The approved extension means extending, in all cases, the deadlines for completion until July 31, 2022 and justification until October 31, 2022.
