SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Jan. 27 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Governing Council received this Thursday information on the direct subsidy granted in the fourth quarter of 2021 to the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Navigation of Gran Canaria, amounting to 35,790.97 euros, for the maintenance of the extrajudicial mediation service and extrajudicial civil and mercantile and enable the promotion of the culture of the agreement from the understanding.
In addition to defraying the operating costs and the cost of the fees of the mediators, this aid is also intended to run a refresher course for said staff and incorporate more mediators.
Mediation is a voluntary procedure in which a third party, duly accredited, called a mediator, informs, guides and assists, without their own decision-making power, the parties in conflict, in order to facilitate channels of dialogue and the search by these of fair, lasting and stable agreements, in order to avoid the approach of contentious legal proceedings, put an end to those already started or reduce their scope.
Thus, commercial mediation, in addition to providing significant decongestion for judicial bodies, offers multiple advantages for all the agents involved, including cost and resource savings, reduced response times, restoration of trust between the parties or a high degree of compliance with the agreements reached.
The subsidy, granted by the Ministry of Public Administrations, Justice and Security, directed by Julio Pérez, is articulated through two projects: intra and extrajudicial mediation in the commercial field and the training of mediators.
The period for carrying out the activity subject to the subsidy ends on May 31, 2022.
Regarding the first project, the conflicts object of mediation are the demands in which actions related to unfair competition, industrial and intellectual property and advertising are brought; corporate conflicts, with special attention to those produced within the family business; claims that are promoted in terms of transport, national or international; Actions related to the civil liability of corporate administrators, bankruptcy administrators, liquidators or auditors in liquidation or bankruptcy procedures, or voluntary jurisdiction procedures in which opposition is raised.
The aid is also intended for the training of mediators, in order to incorporate more professionals into the Registry.
The Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Navigation of Gran Canaria executed between November 2020 and May 2021 and through another grant granted by the Department of Public Administrations, Justice and Security, a commercial mediation pilot project that included the continuous training of mediators and the processing of 20 mediations that had been referred by the Mercantile Courts 1 and 2 of Las Palmas.
