SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Jan. 26 (EUROPA PRESS) –
Agents of the National Police have arrested a 42-year-old man in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, with multiple police records, as the alleged perpetrator of the crimes of robbery with force and damage to four vehicles.
The detainee allegedly stole from inside vehicles parked in the area of the General del Rosario Highway and then set them on fire to destroy possible incriminating evidence and divert the investigation.
The police action began as a result of the National Police investigators observing an unusual increase in burned vehicles, between January 13 and 16, in the area of the General del Rosario Highway.
After analyzing the cases, they were struck by the fact that the events were committed during night time slots and in the same area.
Based on the inspections carried out, the agents developed a working hypothesis in which the burning of the car was a means of destroying the evidence of a previous theft or even diverting the attention of the investigators.
The analysis of the data, evidence and witness statements collected by the investigators made it possible to relate an individual to the facts. This subject, apparently, had been caught running away from the scene of one of the events, before the arrival of a National Police patrol.
The person identified, a resident of the area where the fires were committed, presumably committed the robbery inside the vehicle, breaking the windows or window, and later set the car on fire to hinder the investigation.
This person was arrested in the capital of Tenerife by the National Police and, together with the report made for this purpose, made available to the competent judicial authority. The actions were carried out by national police officers from the Investigation Group of the National Police Station of the Northern District of Santa Cruz de Tenerife.
